“In 2011, in an interview with Elon Musk in Bloomberg, we saw how he mocked BYD, this Chinese electric car manufacturer, and its competition. He mocked them, saying that they were vehicles of lower quality. Years later, he rectified this, saying that they are companies that work very hard and very intelligently, and in fact, he saw them as one of his rivals. So much so that, as you surely know, at the end of 2023, in the last quarter, BYD surpassed Tesla in sales of electric cars. During 2024, they have remained more or less at the same level.”
