🌍 Possesses some of the best mining deposits globally, including Kamoa-Kakula (largest copper discovery in African history) and Kipushi (top-tier zinc asset).

💰 Expected low production costs (around $1/lb copper post-expansion) offer massive margins with current copper prices above $4/lb.

🇨🇳 Partnership with Chinese entities potentially mitigates political risk in the Congo, but the stock trades at a premium valuation despite the jurisdiction.

“Let’s talk a bit about Ivanhoe Mines and Ivanhoe Electric. Yes, yes. Both share the same founder, Robert Friedland, one of the great legends of mining. Ivanhoe Mines has some of the best deposits on the planet, like Kamoa-Kakula, which is the largest copper discovery in African history, there in the Congo. It’s already in production, they’re doing expansions, finishing a giant smelter, a foundry, and it’s amazing. I mean, it’s an impressive asset, all the money it’s making. Then it has Kipushi, which is the best zinc asset on the planet too. That’s amazing. Amazing. So, to play copper, it’s one of the best you have. The thing is, obviously, it trades at a premium. I mean, despite being in the Congo and all that, it trades with a premium because, in the end, it’s a mine we’re talking about where the production cost will be one, maybe once they finish the expansions now and more, it will be one-something with copper over four. Of course, it’s outrageous. It’s an outrageous asset. You have the Chinese from Zijin, you know the government won’t mess with you because you’d be angering people you shouldn’t anger. I mean, to play copper, it’s the very best there is. But you have to wait because it usually gets pricey; it comes from being expensive at 20. At 20, it’s very expensive whichever way you look at it.”
