@bernardodegarcia:
“Another piece of news from China and Boeing seemed super curious to me. I don’t know how much Boeing is falling right now. China has ordered its airlines not to accept more deliveries of Boeing planes as part of the trade war that has led the US president to impose tariffs of up to 145% on Chinese products, according to people familiar with the matter. Beijing has also asked Chinese airlines to suspend any purchase of equipment and parts for aircraft from US companies, according to sources who asked not to be identified as these are private matters. We are no longer thinking just about Boeing, but also about companies like Heico and TransDigm Group. These companies are not affected; they don’t fall even under fire. TransDigm Group, I never get the ticker right either, it’s not going anywhere either. And there we have Boeing, falling 3%. Okay, it could be interesting around 187, 153, somewhere around there. Well, the order came after China revealed retaliatory tariffs of 125% on US products last weekend, according to sources who, well, asked not to be identified because their tongues would fall off. These levies alone would have more than doubled the cost of aircraft and their parts manufactured in the United States, which would already make it difficult for Chinese airlines to accept Boeing planes. However, just in case it wasn’t clear, China has now banned it.”
