It is a powerhouse in the leader segment with Absolut Vodka, Jameson, Chivas Regal, and Ricard, to name a few, quite similar to Diageo. Its strength is based on the diversity of global brands and excellent marketing. The P/E is currently trading, as we see there, at about 14 times, near historic lows for Pernod Ricard right now. It is cheaper than its peers, perhaps reflecting more economic pressures in Europe or tensions in emerging markets. However, in my opinion, its premium portfolio gives us a good margin of safety, protecting us quite a bit.”
