Contemporary Amperex Technology, or CATL, is the world’s largest producer of batteries for electric vehicles. They presented the latest versions of their cells, highlighting durability and range, addressing perceived limitations that still deter many consumers from switching to EVs, like the fear of running out of power. CATL presented these innovations today at its technology day in Shanghai, an event held in a converted warehouse attended by media, influencers, and analysts. Gao Huan, CATL’s CTO, spoke, and the billionaire founder and chairman, Robin Zeng, also appeared on screen. They discussed batteries charging in less than 5 minutes with greater range capacity, among other things. We’ll likely see more details emerge in the coming months.”
