🤖 Google launched an open-source AI agent development kit to help developers create AI assistants, potentially increasing reliance on Google Cloud services.

🚗 Waymo, Google’s self-driving unit, is expanding internationally, starting with mapping roads in Tokyo using manually driven vehicles equipped with its technology.

💰 CEO Sundar Pichai reaffirmed Alphabet’s commitment to investing approximately $75 billion in CAPEX, primarily for servers and data centers to boost AI and cloud capabilities.

@bernardodegarcia:
“The first news is that Google plans to help developers create AI assistants for various tasks, which could undoubtedly increase dependence on its cloud services and the resulting revenue. At its annual cloud computing conference held yesterday in Las Vegas, Google announced the launch of the Agent Development Kit, an open-source toolset to facilitate the creation of AI agents, as well as a range of ready-to-use agents on its cloud computing platform. Google anticipates its clients will use digital agents to respond to their customers, write code, create marketing materials, and optimize their operations. If popularized, the increased revenue generated by the cloud could help offset Google’s investment in generative AI, which is more costly than expected, as we know. But there’s more: Waymo, Google’s autonomous driving unit, will deploy 25 manually driven vehicles to collect road data in Tokyo next week, marking its first international driving test after months of collaboration. Waymo, Nihon Kotsu, and Go will soon begin mapping streets using our manually driven vehicles with Waymo technology in seven districts of Tokyo, the company announced yesterday at its conference. Nihon Kotsu is a Japanese taxi company, and Go is a local ride-hailing app. The initial mapping phase will allow Waymo vehicles to gather information about local roads, driving patterns, and navigation in urban traffic. But there’s still more: Alphabet CEO Mr. Sundar Pichai reaffirmed the company’s commitment to investing approximately $75 billion in infrastructure development and its data centers. These comments come at a time when investors are concerned about the impact of new U.S. tariffs. In 2025, we plan to invest around $75 billion in CAPEX in total. This investment will go towards our servers and data centers, which includes boosting our AI and cloud computing business, Pichai stated yesterday at the Google Cloud conference. That will greatly benefit our customers, like all of you.”
