👓 The job cuts affect staff working on VR experiences for Meta Quest headsets and hardware operations personnel.

🔄 Management aims to streamline efforts by optimizing similar work being done across different teams within Reality Labs.

@bernardodegarcia:
“…Meta, which we are also talking about because it is laying off more than 100 people from its Reality Labs division, focused on creating virtual reality and wearable devices, according to a familiar person. The latest round of job cuts affected Reality Labs staff focused on creating virtual reality experiences for Meta’s Quest headsets, as well as employees focused on operations working on hardware, said the person who, as always, asks not to be identified because they would lose their job. Meta management hopes to optimize similar work being done in two different teams within Reality Labs. The Menlo Park, California-based company confirmed that layoffs had occurred but did not provide comments on the number of layoffs, so to speak.”
